Another Week-A-Rooney

Image
Aloha and Howdy to all my loyal fans and followers, Thank you for tuning in to this week's episode of My Mission! It's been a pretty good week and we've had some good things happen for sure, and we've been staying busy. A few notable highlights of this week include, some light gardening, teaching some epic lessons, the official day of transfers, and MONOPOLY!! It's been rather rainy, but we were able to go do a service project for an older couple and help them with some gardening. We helped out for a while, and they were very appreciative. Prolly one of the most fun things we've done so far. Even though it was rainy, and kind of cold, we got it done and they paid us in fruit and chocolate which is always appreciated. Well worth it. We've had a few consistent people that we've been teaching, and they're doing awesome. We think that they will continue to progress and it seems promising so pray for them please. One that we've been working with, Ma...

Transfer News and Record Numbers

Welcome everybody! and remain seated please (permanecer sentados por favor) This has been quite the busy week, but it's a whole lot of fun. We had 3 splits this week which is crazy, but is always a good time. I think I'm gonna break it down day by day this time and see how that goes. So without further ado...... Tuesday- (not Monday cuz i threw it in my last email) Today's big thing was being able to meet with a young guy who went inactive in the past. We were able to have a great discussion, and he's recently decided to start coming to church. So he really wanted to meet with the missionaries again and have another chat with them, so it went well. He loves the gospel but just got too busy, which happens. But he's ready to be back. He also expressed his interest in receiving a patriarchal blessing which is so awesome. And it was kind of serendipitous because that's what I'm currently working on doing with my mission president. So that was cool. (I'll k...

G'day from the Field – Transfers, Brisket, and Bingsoo!

Hey everyone!      Hope you're all doing well back home! This past week has been one for the books – super busy, but honestly one of the most fun weeks of the mission so far. First off, I got to go on transfers with Elder Sexton, which was an awesome experience. We had a blast teaching, finding, and laughing way more than probably necessary – but hey, joy is part of the work, right? I also tried Bingsoo for the first time – it’s this shaved ice dessert that’s colder than a kangaroo’s kiss in winter. So good though! Definitely a new favorite. And speaking of food, we were able to find some real Texas barbecue (dreams  do  come true), and I had some absolutely incredible brisket that might’ve converted me on the spot. I’m not saying it was a spiritual experience... but I  am  saying I may have teared up a little. In the musical realm, I’ve been learning tons of new songs on the guitar – both for fun and for sharing some music with the people we teach. Mu...

The Best Two Years

This week has been a whole lot of fun and a whole lot of work. I hate to do this to yall cuz its boring of me. But I'm gonna have to cut this one a little more short, because I just got a free minute from today and its already late. But here is the quick rundown.           We did another exchange this week so I had a new companion for that day and that was super fun, good to get to know each other more and learn new ways on how to missionary work, cuz when you're just with the same person, you pick up a routine, so it was nice to mix it up. Plus now I have a fresh perspective and way to go about spreading the word, so that's always great.   We had a baptism this last week that we did with the Springvale Elders in the neighboring area, and that was awesome. It was super hectic and kinda chaotic with a little bit of confusion thrown in just to seal the deal, but it worked out. However, we started to fill the font and stepped away for a b...
