G'day from the Field – Transfers, Brisket, and Bingsoo!

Hey everyone!

Hope you're all doing well back home! This past week has been one for the books – super busy, but honestly one of the most fun weeks of the mission so far.
First off, I got to go on transfers with Elder Sexton, which was an awesome experience. We had a blast teaching, finding, and laughing way more than probably necessary – but hey, joy is part of the work, right?

I also tried Bingsoo for the first time – it’s this shaved ice dessert that’s colder than a kangaroo’s kiss in winter. So good though! Definitely a new favorite. And speaking of food, we were able to find some real Texas barbecue (dreams do come true), and I had some absolutely incredible brisket that might’ve converted me on the spot. I’m not saying it was a spiritual experience... but I am saying I may have teared up a little.
In the musical realm, I’ve been learning tons of new songs on the guitar – both for fun and for sharing some music with the people we teach. Music really brings the Spirit, and it's been cool to use it in lessons. I even wrote one of my own songs, which has been kind of a challenge because I would not say that I'm gifted in that realm.
We also had a record number of friends at church this week, which was such a blessing. Teaching has been going really well – it’s so exciting to see how the Lord is preparing people and how open hearts are everywhere, even in unexpected places (like on the bus where we taught a kid on the way home from school).

Transfer news is coming up this week, so everyone’s got their ears perked and bags half-packed just in case. That said, I’ve got a feeling I’ll be staying put. I think the Lord’s still got some work for me to do here (plus, I haven’t converted the local kebab shop owner yet – give me time).

Also – big shoutout to all the amazing mums out there for Mothers Day! Especially my own, who’s basically a superhero disguised as a regular person. Thanks for all the prayers, packages, love, and motivation to keep on going. We’d be nowhere without you! Hope your day was filled with flowers, hugs, and absolutely zero dishes.

Anyway, the work’s moving forward, and I’m loving every minute – even when I’m sweating like a koala in a sauna. Australia may not have drop bears in the city, but the humidity sure drops me every day.
Love you all! Thanks for the prayers and support. Keep smiling and remember: if you ever get lost, just follow the smell of brisket and the sound of a badly tuned guitar – it might just be me.
Cheers and blessings,
