Door to Door Salesman

Image
Hello everybody! Another week has gone by, and they are flying already. It's only been about a month but it's been a great time. So much fun always, even when we're super busy and working hard it's still a good time.  This week has been a lot of working, nothing too exciting went on this week, but we had a district council which was fun. Got together and had some talk about our friends and what our goals are. Then we had lunch all together and had some fire nachos that we made. I'm already missing Mexican food so much. There's none here and that's probably what I miss the most. A good ol' burrito would be the best thing ever.  We mostly did a bunch of door knocking this week, for hours and hours. Which is actually fun cuz you're pretty much just hanging out with my epic companion and inviting people to hear about our wonderful savior Jesus Christ. The acceptance rate is not high, but those who do are eager to hear so its fun. Even when we do g...

What the Heck is a Kilometer?

What is going one everybody!! Another week down, so another email headed your way. This week has been a good one that's for sure. They really don't mess around here and they just throw you straight in the deep end and put you to work, but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. Its not just work tho, we have plenty of fun times too, so it balances out nicely. This week there was lots of little miracles and spiritual moments, but I'll share the biggest two with yall. The first one was having the chance to be visited by Elder Kearon of the 12. It was so much fun to be able to hear from him, and meet him. He spoke mostly about embracing the change of serving a mission and finding joy in the work. We are sharing a message of joy, so it should bring you joy, but we also must share that message with joy and look like it brings us happiness. So that was fun. He was also super funny, he cracked jokes the whole time and it was a riot.       The second...

Bonus Story

Here's the story for yall... An elder that one of our branch presidency served with once received a package from his grandmother. In their family every missionary out in the field would get that particular package from for a month and then send it back. Inside the package they received a letter that his great great grandmother had written in regards to her son and his mission (his great grandfather) as well as a small old dish cloth that was hand embroidered. The letter inside contained this story about the great grandfather.  He was from Logan Utah, and was called to serve a mission in Georgia. At this time there wasn't even companions, and they didn't have houses so they would just move house to house and rely on people's kindness to find places to sleep. He began teaching in this small random town in the middle of nowhere Georgia. And one night he was sleeping in the barn of someone he had met, and late at night he heard a loud noise coming down the road. Marching ...

The Mormons are at the Door

G'Day everyone,  I made it to Australia!! I'm finally here and beginning the real work. And it is incredible already. It's been kind of a crazy week of lots of new things and experiences but it's been fun. I also have a couple stories and I'll share one at the end that's optional but I think is super cool. A few cool things I've noticed here I'd that there's graffiti EVERYWHERE it's wild. Some of it's cool and some of its just dumb tags, also the trucks are a lot smaller. And they just look like a Subaru cut in half with a bed, so I'm not sure if that counts as a truck, but maybe I'll learn to love em. And apparently there's not just kangaroos frollicking everywhere? Kind of a let down but apparently they're only in the "nature" and not on the city bus.  The travel here was gnarly, nearly 30 hours of traveling total and it was loooooong. Luckily, I was able to sleep most of the really long flight so it passed by qui...

Last Week of MTC

Image
Holy cow what a week its been. They keep us busy busy but it's a lot of fun. Whenever we're not in class, we're in workshops, or the cafeteria, and occasionally playing some top tier ping pong. But it's been a great time, made lots of new friends that I'm pretty close with already. Ill have to find them all in 2 years. And i ate a whole lot of food (I can feel the pounds gaining) The food has either gotten better or I'm just eating anything they give me, I've upgraded to like 4 plates per meal so that's been fantastic.   Last week I shared how cold it was here in Provo. Turns out it was nothing, this last week has been "colder than a mother in law's kiss" (quote courtesy of Elder Hawsden) we woke up on the first to it snowing with a few inches on the ground and that was way fun, and since then it's sat around 30 degrees ish. Which I've adapted to already, i...
