And I'm Going to....drumroll please.....
NO WHERE!
This weekend we have received our next transfer news and I am staying one more transfer in Moorabbin. However, both of my current companions are leaving. I wish them both the best and I know they are going to do some amazing things. I will be receiving a new companion with me, his name is Elder Willis and I've heard great things about him so I'm excited. I know we're gonna have a blast and get some work done.
Just wanna give a quick shout out to the Moorabbin ward, they are the best! They treat us Elders so well and help out so much with the work. AAAANNNDDD, they feed us super well which is amazing. I have the ward to thank for the 20 pounds I've put on. But they're the best. So many cool families and couples that make being here that much better. They are almost like a second family and I'm very grateful for them.
This week has had quite a few highlights, we officially said good bye to our mission president, president Thomas and had a fun farewell conference. It was fun but kinda sad. The spirit was very strong. Then two days later we said hello and had another conference with the new mission president, President Anderson. He's from St Geroge Utah, and such a cool guy. I can tell he's called from God and is a spiritual giant, and he's going to do amazing things here. I can't wait to get to know him better over these next two ish years.
I hit 100 days! That is an awesome milestone, even though it's only really felt like I've been out for 3 weeks. When you imagine it like I'm about 1/7 of the way through, or I have finished Sunday in the "week of my mission" I'm loving it tho, I find so much joy in the work everyday and getting to know my fellow missionaries.
It's been one of the coolest things that I've been a part of. I hope that I can bring more unto Christ. I have seen some amazing things already and I know it's just the tip of the Iceberg.
This week I gave a skills training at district Council on keeping commitments and giving invitations. It got me thinking on what we can do regarding those things, and how those principles can apply to our lives in other ways. One of the biggest things that I wanted to share was leading with love and being BOLD. In our mission we are told to have high love and high expectations for our friends we make and for the missionaries that are serving, but also for ourselves. We need to always make sure that it's love that is pushing us, and we need to have high expectations in the goals we set. These two things will help nurture us to our full potential. The next point was being bold. When you have that high love and that high expectation, you want the best. And why be shy and timid when you know what you have to offer can help? So don't be shy, be bold! Act in boldness, and as long as it is a righteous desire, then the Lord will assist. These two simple ideas can help us grow into better people, but can also allow us to assist others in reaching that potential.
One of the absolute highlights of this week, was on Sunday. Where I was able to receive my patriarchal blessing. It was such an amazing experience and such a blessing. I'm very grateful for that opportunity, and I know it comes directly from the Lord. However, in order to go do that, we had to drive nearly two hours north, so we had a road trip day. On that drive we saw probably 200 kangaroos, 300 cows, 8 emus, and a MASSIVE dead kangaroo. It was also such a beautiful drive up into the mountains and forests. It was so fun to see a different side of Australia that I hadn't had the chance to yet. I can't wait to have the chance to see more of Australia.
Today we went with the whole district and played 18 holes of miniature golf. Which was way fun. The place was super cool and, not to brag, but I did pretty good. Scored 4 or 5 under and took second place. Maybe got a few hole in ones too so.... Look for me on the miniature PGA tour ✨️. This district has been so much fun and it's kinda sad to see it now being mixed up. But it's also exciting that I have the chance to meet new people and make new friends. It'll be a good transfer, I can feel it.
Always remember to have faith in the Lord. He has a plan for you and all you need to do is trust and act on the promptings of the spirit and commandments of God. James 2:26 "faith without works is dead." We must act on our faith. Don't just be all bark no bite. Get out there and walk the walk. I'm sure I've shared this spiritual thought before, but it is such an important one. We must act out what we teach and believe. Find any opportunity to serve and spread the love of Christ. This is the key to unifying us and helping us build stronger connections.
I love you all so much and I am doing amazing out here. I may or may not be on track to getting fat, but I'm staying happy. I love you all so much and reach out to me if you ever need anything. Jesus Christ is our Savior, our Heavenly Father loves us infinitely, and He has a plan for each and every one of us, and He knows us personally.
And Remember....
"🎶DONT STOP, BELIEVING! HOLD ON TO THAT FEELING🎶 "
Love from Straya,
Elder Reddish
PS. If anyone knows any fun or good spiritual thoughts, or something I should study please send it my way. Thanks.
