Week of Miracles

What's good all my friends and family! What an amazing week this has been, I cant wait to tell you all about it. Absolutely a week of miracles, so you might need to get some snacks or something🍿🍿

Well, rewind back to LAST pday, which was prolly one of the best ones we've had. All of the Elders got together which was really fun. And we ended up going to this place called Hijinx Hotel cuz we had some free passes. We  were expecting it to be an escape room, but we were wrong. Turns out you go through and there's 8 rooms, and each is an interactive mini game thing where you try and score the most points against other teams going through the rooms. For example there was a basketball hoops one, a guess the song one, a giant Simon says game, one where you try and hit buttons all around the room that light up, and one where you are in a giant ball pit and you gotta put as many balls into holes that light up on the walls. It was crazy and a ton of fun. After that, we had 1 hour free play at an arcade so that was so fun. Great p day all in all.

Tuesday, we did some general missionary work, which is always legit. It was the last day of the transfer which is wild. So to celebrate, we had some pizza at district council. And that evening, we ended up going to help out with the youth missionary night. We taught about missionary work and how we use social media to do our work. It was a ton of fun and always a good time connecting with the youth. They are so full of energy and eager to help out and learn of missionary work.

After Tuesday we had mission transfers, but because we're staying, we didn't have to pack up and leave. We drove some other Elders down tho, and had Elder Stevens join us for a couple days temporarily while we wait for our new trainees to get here.

Friday was the official meet your trainee/trainer day. And it was so fun. We kinda do it like the NFL draft, so our golden (new missionary) stands up front and we have a big drum roll and they announce who is training them. So we both find out at the same time, which is fun. Elder Bachman from Ogden Utah is who will be joining us this transfer. He's a super nice kid who's ready to embrace the missionary life and get to work. I'm excited to see how he grows and adapts to this life in the next 12 weeks.

One of the biggest miracles we've seen has been with our friend Irene. She is from Greece and grew up Greek Orthodox. All of her kids and grandkids are members of the church, but she was never interested. However she has come to our ward here for several years, because she has some friends that come here and because her kids urged her to. So she has come nearly every Sunday for 3 years. Was never interested in pursuing, but the missionaries would check in on her. So one day we stopped by and checked in and talked to her for a bit. Not long after we got a call from our elders quorum president, he asked if we knew who Irene was and we were like yeah we just saw her. So he informed us she accepted an invitation from her son to be baptized. Which was amazing to hear. So we started teaching her all the lessons. Because she had a lot of exposure she already knew a lot, and what she didn't already know she accepted and loved. Our last big worry, and what her family shared with us, was that the Word of Wisdom might be a stumbling block. So as a companionship we fasted and prayed for her. We taught her, and she accepted it! She said she knew that its something she needs to do, and though it might be hard she's going to do her absolute best. And that was amazing to hear! Even her son was shocked! So were so excited for her to baptized this Saturday, so please if you will keep her in your prayers.

That's basically what we had going on this last week. But were finally starting to come out of Winter which is nice, so we've been having some nicer clear days. Then randomly we'll have a freezing cold rainy day,  but that's okay. A little rain never hurt nobody. And they say for every raindrop that falls on your nametag, your future spouse gets that much hotter so😏😏

These last couple days I've had a certain parable on my mind. Its found in Matthew 25 starting at verse 14. In this story, a man, a lord, gifted his servants some talents. To one he gives 5, to one he gives 2, and to another he gives 1. Both the servants he gave 5 and 2 to, went out and doubled them and returned to their master. The Lord tells them, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. However the servant who received one, took it and buried it. And when he returned the single one to the master, the master was displeased with him.

This is the same with us and the talents the lord blesses us with. We all have our own talents for a reason and that makes us special, and allows us to be instruments in the hand of the lord. However, we need to take these talents and exercise them and magnify them to help others. When we magnify these talents, the lords blesses us with even more, and we will one day have the chance to enter into the joy of the Lord. That we may one day stand before our Lord, and be told, "Well done good and faithful servant"

I love all so much and I hope you're finding as much joy as I am in these wonderful days that the lord blesses us with. I hope you get to see the blessings and the miracles the lord orchestrates each and every day, and if you don't, try to see with a fresh pair of eyes. If i can do anything please reach out. I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers and emails. Your support means the world to me. And hey, if you feeling crazy, find a chance to feed your local missionaries. And always remember. God is Greater Than The Ups and The Downs
