Water War!
Hello everyone greetings from the wonderful Melbourne Australia. These last two weeks have been amazing and I cannot wait to tell you guys all about it, so without further ado let's get into it.
We've been staying pretty busy with lessons. We teach quite a few a week, and they are so fun. Some of the people are not super interested in being baptized super soon, so we just have to plant that seed and teach them and help them progress their relationship with Jesus Christ but it's still amazing to watch them progress. A few of them are just barely entering the world of Christianity, so we have to start from the very very beginning and have to take it kind of slow, and so we teach a lot from the Bible in those cases which has also been cool because then I get to have a new understanding of the Bible. We kind of have reached a stalemate where the friends that we teach love the lessons and want to continue having them but they are not attending church and that is kind of hard, but we will have patience and Faith.
This week we had both zone conference and a temple trip. The zone conference on Tuesday was super fun and it's focus was on Chris- like attributes, so we have been really thinking of those lately. The trainings that they give in the thoughts that were shared were super inspired and have inspired me to really look in my self and find those Christ-like attributes that I want to work on. This leads me to the temple where I entered in with a question of "which one would help me the most?" And during that temple experience I opened up to First Corinthians chapter 13. This chapter focuses on charity and how it is the pure love of Christ, which was super inspired. I will be focusing on that, and I will report back to results of the studies and the thought that I put into it. I always love every opportunity we have to attend the temple and it truly is the house of the Lord.
Our district has waged a water war. So we all carry around water guns now, and whenever we see the other missionaries we shoot them. Or if we have a chance to go and ambush them, then we do that. Of course we do not let it distract us from our missionary work and purpose, but it's a lot of fun and it helps boost the morale. Needless to say, I may or may not be winning. More likely I'm not winning, but it still has been a lot of fun!
The work here is amazing and I absolutely love every day that we get to go out and spread this wonderful Gospel. I'm sorry these emails have not been as interesting as they were at the beginning of my mission, but it's so busy that I barely find time to write them now. I appreciate all the love and support and I'm doing my very best to respond to all the emails that you guys send me. I really do appreciate the emails and they uplift me whenever I get them. Just know that if I don't reply, I'm doing great, I'm having a lot of fun, and I'm teaching a lot of really cool people. It's finally becoming the warm season and we've been taking advantage of that and spending a lot of time outside lately so it's been great.
For a quick little spiritual thought I just want to invite all of you to read First Corinthians chapter 13 and really ponder what charity is to you and how you can spread that around. When we are peacemakers and share love then that is when we are most like Jesus Christ. When you have charity the people around you can see it and they will be interested in what is so different about you, and that is the light of Christ and the pure love of Christ.
I hope you're all doing amazing and I love you all and I miss you all. Hopefully you guys are seeing all my good photos and I promise that I will start taking more. Thank you for all your love and support and prayers and thank you for all the messages that I receive they are much appreciated. If you ever need anything from me please feel free to reach out and know that I'm always here. I love you all and I wish you the best in this next week especially good luck to those who are in the cold cold Idaho.
Much love,
Elder Reddish
